Michael Austermann

Michael Austermann (* 1949 ) is a German educator and university lecturer .

Life

After studying to become a teacher for secondary schools in Bonn and working as a teacher from 1973 in West Berlin , Austermann qualified as a special education teacher at the University of Dortmund . There was carried out in 1992 its graduation to the Dr. paed. with the dissertation repercussions of efforts to integrate handicapped children and adolescents into school on "school" under a morphological approach . From 1990 to 1994 Austermann was a lecturer in the field of pedagogy for the blind at the Humboldt University in Berlin , then from 1995 to 1997 he represented the professorship for didactics in pedagogy for the blind and visually impaired at the University of Dortmund.

In 1997 Austermann a call to the professorship for blind education at the University of Education Heidelberg . From 2000 he was Vice-Rector there , and Rector of the university from 2002 to 2009 . Since 2010 he has been a visiting professor at the chair for education for the blind and visually impaired at the HU Berlin.
