Michael Köllner (born December 29, 1969 in Fuchsmühl ) is a German football coach .

Life

Köllner completed vocational training as a dental assistant with the Bundeswehr . As a soccer player, he was active in several lower-class sports clubs in Upper Palatinate and Upper Franconia , for example at SG Fuchsmühl in his birthplace. He has been a sports specialist since 2001 and a DFB football instructor since 2004 . He wrote several soccer tactics and coaching manuals.

From 2002 to 2014, Köllner was DFB coordinator for talent development and at the same time responsible sporting director for the regional teams U13 to U17. At the beginning of March 2017, he took over the coaching position at the second division club 1. FC Nürnberg . At the end of the 2017/18 season he was promoted to the Bundesliga with the club . After the fall in the relegation zone, which had not been left since the 16th matchday, and the elimination in the round of 16 of the cup (0-1 in Hamburg ), the supervisory board decided on February 12, 2019 to take sports director Andreas Bornemann and Köllner on leave.

On November 9, 2019, the third division TSV 1860 Munich announced the commitment as head coach of the Lions .
