Miriam Naor ( Hebrew מרים נאור; * October 26, 1947 in Jerusalem ) is an Israeli lawyer. From 2015 to 2017 she was President of the Israeli Supreme Court .

Career

Naor studied law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and received her doctorate in 1971. From 1972 to 1979 she was a prosecutor and in 1980 she was sworn in as a judge. From 1972 to 2001 she taught at the Law Faculty of the Hebrew University. From 2015 to 2017 she was President of the Israeli Supreme Court; their term of office ended when the judges reached the age limit of 70 years.
