Mirko Boland (born April 23, 1987 in Wesel ) is a German soccer player who has been under contract with VfB Lübeck since July 2020 .
Career
Boland played in his youth at SV Rees, FC Schalke 04 and MSV Duisburg , with which he also signed his first professional contract in 2008. For the 2008/09 season he moved up to the professional squad of MSV Duisburg for the 2nd Bundesliga . In December 2008, the new coach Peter Neururer downsized the professional squad by some players, including Boland. Between 2006 and 2008 he played 71 games for the second team of the MSV.
At the beginning of January 2009, his contract with MSV was terminated and he moved to third division club Eintracht Braunschweig free of charge . In his league debut for Eintracht on February 14, 2009 against Kickers Emden , he scored the 2-1 winner. In the 2010/11 season , e rose to the 2nd Bundesliga as champions with Eintracht Braunschweig. In the 2012/13 season he scored four goals and prepared six goals, but in the second half of the season he fell into a performance gap and briefly lost his place in the starting line-up. At the end of the season, Eintracht Braunschweig rose to runner-up in the Bundesliga , where Boland made his debut on August 10, 2013 (1st matchday) in the 0-1 defeat at home against Werder Bremen . He scored his first Bundesliga goal on September 20, 2013 in the 1: 4 defeat in the away game against Borussia Mönchengladbach with the goal to 1: 2 in the 58th minute. Eintracht could not keep up in the Bundesliga and were relegated at the end of the season. In the 2016/17 season , Boland played for a long time with Braunschweiger Eintracht for promotion and took third place in the table; in the following relegation against local rivals VfL Wolfsburg , they missed promotion to the Bundesliga. In the 2017/18 season , Eintracht was relegated to the 3rd division . Boland's contract expired at the end of the season. In total, he played over 300 competitive games for Eintracht Braunschweig.
In July 2018 he received a two-year contract with the Australian A-League club Adelaide United .
For the 2020/21 season, Boland moved to the 3rd division for VfB Lübeck . He signed a contract with the promoted team until June 30, 2022, which is also valid for the Regionalliga Nord .
