The Mittelbühlgraben is a stream in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen .

The stream rises on the connecting road Störzelbach - Weimersheim , near the Flüglinger Berg at an altitude of about 458  m above sea level. NHN . It flows through the Ellinger Forest , then crosses under the Treuchtlingen – Nuremberg railway line and Bundesstraße 2 and finally flows into the river after a little over 4 km at an altitude of about 389  m above sea level. NHN south of Ellingen in the Swabian Rezat .

On its 4.2 km long path, the stream overcomes a height difference of about 69 m, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 16 ‰.

Catchment area

The Mittelbühlgraben drains a 6.1 km catchment area via the Swabian Rezat, the Rednitz , the Regnitz , the Main and the Rhine to the North Sea .

Fields dominate the upper reaches, the middle area is forested and the estuary area is characterized by grassland.
