Mogens von Gadow (born May 12, 1930 in Stettin ) is a German actor , director , dramaturge and voice actor . He was best known as the German voice of Joe Pesci and Ian Holm . He comes from the von Gadow family from the Ruppin district .

Live and act

Mogens von Gadow first completed an apprenticeship as a radio technician in Wuppertal . He also took private acting lessons and made his stage debut in Wuppertal. This was followed by theater engagements in Mannheim , Frankfurt am Main , Basel , Bremerhaven and Munich . He also works as a stage director and dramaturge . For the 2009/2010 season he is also a member of the Ohnsorg Theater ensemble .

Since the late 1960s he has also been increasingly active in film and television. In the cinema he played under Roman Polański in What? alongside Gina Lollobrigida and David Niven in the Nabokov film adaptation of König, Dame, Bube and in comedies such as Désirée Nosbusch's A.DAM

His television roles include Ibarek in the Karl May- oriented series Kara Ben Nemsi Effendi , Hufnagel in several episodes of the popular children's series Meister Eder und sein Pumuckl and the first district manager in the RTL police series Die Wache . In 2002 he dubbed a character in a computer game for the first time. In Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven , he spoke the character Paulie , who is intended as a tribute to the portrayal of Joe Pescis in the Scorsese films Goodfellas and Casino . He also dubbed the narrator in the computer game Crashday and the title character in the adventure Ceville .
