Montgeron is a French commune with 23,775 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in France in the northeast of the Essonne department . Montgeron is one of the southern suburbs of Paris and is 18 kilometers from the center of Paris.

The first Tour de France began on July 1, 1903 at around 3:15 p.m. at Café Le Réveil-Matin in Montgeron.
