Naked Raven , also called The Ravens , was an Australian band from Melbourne formed in 1994 . In her style she combined elements from jazz , pop , folk rock and classical music .

history

The band toured Europe frequently, especially Germany, where they achieved their greatest commercial successes. Berlin was considered her second home. Since her first European tour in 1996 with Erica Grundell (vocals, violin), Russ "Nonstop" Pinney (guitar), Kate Mazoudier (cello, bass) and James Richmond (percussion), the composition of Naked Raven has changed several times. The only remaining founding member was James Richmond. Former musical director Russ Pinney now lives in the Netherlands. The lead singer from 2000 was Janine Maunder, who also played the piano. Stephanie Lindner (violin, background vocals) also belonged to the core of the group. Most recently, Tim McMillan or Arne Jansen and Anne-Christin Schwarz on the cello played guitarists in live performances .

The live album Live Girl was recorded as the band's first album in Berlin, the studio album Never Quite , released in 2006, was also made there, as were some of the songs from the albums from 2002.

In September 2008, the band released the album Sunday Best , which is intended to be a retrospective of the band's 14-year history. In addition to eight previously published titles, it contains three new recordings of old titles with the current line-up as well as four completely new pieces.

In January 2010 Naked Raven came to Germany for three concerts after a one and a half year break.
