The National Speed ​​Skating Hall is a sports facility on the Olympic site in northern Beijing .

It will be built on the occasion of the 2022 Winter Olympics for speed skating competitions . The arena will have a capacity of 12,000 spectators. After the end of the Olympic Games, the competition site is to be reduced to 6,800 seats and made accessible to the public.

The National Speed ​​Skating Hall was designed by the architects Populus. They have already taken part in several Olympic Games, including the architects who helped design the Olympic stadiums in Sydney , London and Sochi .

The facade of the national speed skating hall is made up of 22 light strips that wrap around the hall. These bands are equipped with light sources so that the ice rink can be used with various light programs.

location

The National Speed ​​Skating Hall is located in the northwest of the 2008 Olympic site and is part of the Olympic Green . The hall is the only completely new building on the Olympic Green for the Olympic Games 2022. The Olympic Green Hockey Field, which was built as a temporary facility for the Olympic Summer Games 2008 and the Summer Paralympics 2008 , was located on the site.
