Natural track luge junior world championship
At the natural track luge junior world championship , the junior world champions in luge on natural track natural track luge in the disciplines single-seater (women and men) and double-seater have been determined since 1997 . The Junior World Championships are organized by the International Luge Federation (FIL) and alternate with the Natural Track Luge World Championship. At the beginning it took place in odd years and since 2002 always in even years. Athletes between the ages of 15 and 20 are eligible to participate. As with the world championships, the single-seater competitions are decided in three and the double-seater competition in two races at the junior world championships.
Up to 2012, eight Junior World Championships were held in three countries ( Italy , Austria and Germany ). The most successful participating country is Italy, which won 15 out of 24 possible gold medals and a total of 44 out of 72 medals. 7 gold, 2 silver and 11 bronze medals went to Austria and 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals to Russia . Finland and Slovenia each won a silver and bronze medal .
