Nicolas de Crécy (born September 29, 1966 in Lyon , Département Rhône , France ) is a French comic book author and cartoonist .

Life

De Crécy was a participant in the first course of the École européenne supérieure de l'image , the college for visual media in Angoulême, France . There he received his diploma in 1982. He then worked for Walt Disney Animation France in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis) before publishing his first book in 1991 , Foligatto , based on a text by Alexios Tjoyas .

In 1990 de Crécy published Le Bibendum céleste for which he was responsible for text, drawings and colors. In collaboration with the copywriter Sylvain Chomet , he prepared three volumes of the Léon la came series . To date, more than two dozen of his own comics have been created, some of which have been awarded prizes and translated into foreign languages. He also made the background drawings for Chomet's film Triplettes de Belleville in 2003 :

In 2008, De Crécy received a scholarship to study at Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto , Japan . In 2014/2015 the Japanese magazine Ultra Jump published by Shueisha published La République du catch in several episodes as a preprint , which was also printed in France in 2015.
