Niklas Sundin

Niklas Bo Sundin (born August 13, 1974 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish guitarist , designer and lyricist.

Sundin was one of the founding members of Dark Tranquility , which formed in 1989 as "Septic Broiler". Sundin wrote the lyrics on the first albums, but later gave this task to singer Mikael Stanne. On the album Fiction in turn Sundin wrote the song "Inside the Particle Storm". With Dark Tranquility Sundin released eleven studio albums. The band has been nominated three times for the Swedish Grammis music award. In March 2020, Sundin left the band to have more time with his family.

For the band In Flames , Sundin wrote the lyrics for the albums Lunar Strain and Subterranean . For the albums The Jester Race and Whoracle , Sundin translated the texts written in Swedish by In-Flames singer Anders Fridén into English. In 2007 Sundin founded the band Laethora, with whom he released two studio albums. In 2019 he founded his solo project Mitochondrial Sun, whose debut album will be released in February 2020. He was also a founding member of Hammerfall until he left the band in 1995.

Sundin founded Cabin Fever Media. The object of the company is cover and web design. Sundin not only designed the album covers for his own band, but also for well-known metal bands such as Arch Enemy , Dark Age , In Flames, Ablaze My Sorrow and Sentenced .
