Nobuhiko Hasegawa ( Japanese 長谷川 信 彦 , Hasegawa Nobuhiko ; born March 5, 1947 in Seto , Aichi Prefecture , Japan ; † November 7, 2005 in Kiryū , Gunma Prefecture , Japan) was one of the best table tennis players in the world in the 1960s and 1970s .

Nobuhiko Hasegawa was three-time world champion in Stockholm in 1967 (men's singles, men's team and mixed doubles) and again world champion with the team in Munich in 1969 when he, together with Shigeo Itoh and Mitsuru Kohno, played against the German team with Eberhard Schöler , Bernt Jansen and Wilfried Lieck won 5-3. However, as the reigning individual world champion, he lost to Bernt Jansen and brought his team to the brink of defeat. Hasegawa stood out for his uncompromising offensive game as well as for his unorthodox stick position ( shake handle , index finger in the middle of the backhand).
