Norms Odenthal (* 1972 in Wolfenbüttel ) is a German journalist and television presenter .

Life

Odenthal grew up in Ahlum . After graduating from high school in Wolfenbüttel , Odenthal studied politics , journalism , economics and public law at the University of Göttingen and in Bristol . He then completed a newspaper traineeship and attended the Berlin School of Journalism .

He has been working at ZDF since 2000 , where he was initially responsible for various editorial teams in the main " Foreign Policy " department. Among other things, he moderated today - in Europe and the international journal . In autumn 2003 he switched to the ZDF reporter pool. During this time he worked in war and crisis areas and as a representative of foreign correspondents in various ZDF studios. As of March 2005, he worked as a moderator in the day - Editorial. Odenthal was given new responsibilities in 2014. In April 2014, he switched from tonight to the afternoon and weekend editions of heute news. Since September 1, 2016, he has been the head of the ZDF foreign studio in Singapore .

Norms Odenthal is married and has two children.

criticism

Odenthal is repeatedly criticized because of his moderation and some flippant comments. The then ZDF director Markus Schächter had to apologize to Horst Seehofer after Odenthal alluded to Seehofer's extramarital relationship last night .
