OKtoRail is a model railway system in the Rüttenscheid district of Essen .

The facility is located in the orangery within the Grugapark and covers an area of ​​460 m² on a 1:87 scale. A total of over 200 model trains run in the facility; Around 12,000 model trees and over 10,000 figures were also placed. OKtoRail was opened on June 7, 2014 and is the successor to the Oberhausen model railway world , which existed until 2012. The demonstration begins with a journey through time, which takes place in a simulator with a historical touch and depicts the West German industrial culture of the 1960s. The focus here is on the steel industry, through collieries and steelworks , to the automotive industry .
