The St. Ludgerus Treasury is a collection in Essen - Werden that is looked after according to museum principles . It houses the remains of the church treasure of the former Benedictine abbey Werden , today's St. Ludgerus Church .

There are around 90 works of art in the collection. The exhibits include the Helmstedt Cross , also known as the Werden Crucifix, from the 11th century and a chalice (liturgy) that was created at the same time and was ascribed to Saint Liudger . An ivory pyxis from the 5th / 6th centuries Century shows one of the oldest depictions of the birth of Jesus. The collection has been open to the public since 1979.
