Oldentrup is a district of the city of Bielefeld in the northeastern district of Heepen . Until 1972 Oldentrup was an independent municipality in the Office Heepen the circle Bielefeld .

The place name Oldentrup means "old village" in Low German . Oldentrup originally belonged to the Vogtei, then to the canton and finally to the Heepen office. From an ecclesiastical point of view, the place has always belonged to the Protestant parish of Heepen until a separate parish was founded after the Second World War . Oldentrup originally had a purely rural character and developed into an industrial community in the 20th century. In 1904 the place was connected to the railway network with a breakpoint on the Bielefeld – Hameln railway line. Oldentrup Park was inaugurated on October 30, 1971. As part of the municipal reorganization of the Bielefeld area , Oldentrup was incorporated into Bielefeld on January 1, 1973 and assigned to the Heepen district.

Attractions

The Oldentruper Park on the Oldentruper Straße / corner of Spannbrink offers with its approximately 27,400 square meters a children's playground, a football field and a duck pond, enough space for jogging and walking. In addition, the Oldentrup Park Festival takes place there every year.

One of the oldest farms in Oldentrup is the former Sattelmeierhof Obermeyer zu Ditzen on Hillegosser and the corner of Bechterdisser Strasse. The main house, dated 1661, is still provided with ancient headbands . A large gate barn belongs to the well-preserved complex.
