Spain took part in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London with a delegation of 65 male athletes in 37 competitions in eleven sports.

The Spanish athletes won a silver medal, which the show jumpers José Navarro Morenes , Marcelino Gavilán and Jaime García secured in the team competition. The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the official Fabián Vicente del Valle.
