Saudi Arabia took part in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich with a delegation of ten male athletes in eleven athletics competitions. It was the first participation in the Olympic Games, no medals could be won. The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the athlete Bilal Said Al-Azma .
