The Switzerland took part in the IV. Olympic Winter Games in 1936 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with a delegation of 34 athletes participate. They competed in 7 sports and were able to win one gold and two silver medals. Switzerland thus achieved 5th place in the medal table.

The most successful participant in Switzerland was Joseph Beerli who won a gold medal in the four-man bobsleigh and a silver medal in the two-man bobsleigh.
