Orchestral Favorites is an album by Frank Zappa from 1979. It contains five orchestral pieces that were performed on September 18 and 19, 1975 in the Royce Hall on the grounds of the University of California at Los Angeles by the 37-member Abnuceals Emuukha Electric Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Michael Zearott . Zappa also conducted in part himself. The identity of additional musicians has not yet been clearly reconstructed, the official discography notes Tommy Morgan on the harmonica and the questionable participation of keyboardist André Lewis. Zappa's drummer Terry Bozzio was on the drums . In 1977 the album was handed over by Zappa together with three others to Warner Brothers in order to release them from their contractual obligations towards them. After a lawsuit, the album was released by Warner Brothers in 1979 - just a few weeks after Sheik Yerbouti was released on the CBS - and was not advertised very intensively. The complete cast list can be found on the 3-CD "Orchestral Favorites 40th Anniversary Edidion" released in 2019 (Source: zappa.com)

The cover was designed by Gary Panter and was not authorized by Zappa, who only provided Warner with the master tapes for the album. However, later re-releases made by Zappa themselves kept the cover.
