Oszkár Asbóth
Oszkár Asbóth (born March 31, 1891 in Pankota , Hungary, † February 27, 1960 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian engineer and aviation pioneer .
Asbóth studied in Arad , Szabadka and Wiener Neustadt . In 1915 he joined the kuk flight arsenal in Fischamend . From 1916 he headed propeller production. In 1917, Asbóth became director of the Luft Schrauben Fabrik GmbH within UFAG , where he designed the first helicopter models, one of which was also registered for a patent.
Between 1928 and 1931 Asbóth built four manned helicopters with the most modest means. With the models he carried out 182 test flights, which comprised a total of 29 hours of total flight time. These were the first helicopters in Hungary. The fourth model, the AH 4, had a 130 HP (96 kW) engine to drive the rotor and tail rotor. The helicopter weighed 410 kg. The rate of climb was 2 meters per second. It reached a height of over 30 meters.
