Pelle Ingemar Jensen (born May 24, 1992 in Hamburg ) is a German former football player who was used as a right-footed defensive player, especially as a central defender .

Career

Youth in Rostock

Jensen came to the Rostock area with his parents at the age of five , where he first devoted himself to football in 1998; he joined the SG Warnow-Papendorf from Papendorf . Just two years later, Jensen moved to local rival Hansa Rostock , whose youth departments he then went through. Jensen was also part of the Rostock B-Youth squad when they took part in the 2007/08 season as a founding member of the newly founded B-Youth League . Jensen was one of the top performers of his team with 23 out of 26 possible appearances and thus also drew the attention of the German Football Association , for whose U-16 selection he was used for the first time on May 29, 2008 in a friendly against France he formed the central defense of the German team with his club colleague Tommy Grupe .

In the following season 2008/09 of the B-Jugend-Bundesliga, Jensen only made eight appearances due to an injury and was therefore no longer considered for the national team. For the following season 2009/10 Jensen then moved up to the A-youth of the club and thus to the U-19 Bundesliga , where he came to a total of 16 missions under coach Michael Hartmann . In this, Jensen recommended himself again for the national teams of the DFB, so that he played a total of five missions for the U-18 selection , in which he led the team partly as team captain. With Rostock he also reached the championship of the A-youth Bundesliga North / Northeast and thus qualification for the final round of the German youth championship . Due to an injury, however, he was not used in the semi-finals against Mainz , nor in the final against Leverkusen , which brought Hansa the first national youth title since reunification with a 1-0 win .

Beginnings at Hansa Rostock

In 2010/11 , Jensen initially continued to play in the U-19 Bundesliga for Rostock's A-youth, which was now looked after by Roland Kroos, and also moved up to his country's U-19 selection . However, as in the first team of the club, the 2010/11 as a second division -Absteiger in the 3. Liga played with Matthias Holst and Stephan Gusche failed the-budgetary central defense due to injury, which at that time 18-year-old Jensen was with the 17-year-olds Tom Trybull was appointed to the professional squad under coach Peter Vollmann . While Trybull made his debut in the third division shortly afterwards, Jensen was initially not used and only occupied the Hanseatic substitute bank. In order to collect match practice in the men's area, he was then called up on November 7, 2010 for Hansa's reserve team, which competed in the fifth-class Oberliga Nordost in 2010/11 under Axel Rietentiet . Jensen, who was still part of the Rostock U-19 squad and with whom he reached the finals of the 2010/11 DFB Junior Club Cup , played for the professional team for the first time in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania regional cup : in the round of 16 against Rostock FC on 23 February 2011 he was used for the full season. However, Jensen made his second appearance for the professional team, which had meanwhile achieved direct promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga, when he was substituted on 14 May 2011 in the last game of the season against Ahlen .

In June 2011 Jensen passed the Abitur at the Christophorus School in Rostock with an overall grade of 1.0. In the sporting field, however, his development in the following year should be less successful: During the entire second division season 2011/12 , Jensen initially did not play a competitive game for Rostock's professional team under coach Vollmann, then under his successor Wolfgang Wolf and instead ran exclusively for the reserve team in the big league. Some media reported that the reason for Jensen's disregard in the professional team was a possible move to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in summer 2012, which was rumored in spring 2012. While the second division team had to accept the immediate relegation to the third division at the end of the season, Jensen was still champion of the Oberliga-Nordost-Staffel Nord in the 2011/12 season with the reserve team of FC Hansa .

Jensen at 1899 Hoffenheim

In May 2012, 1899 Hoffenheim announced Jensen's commitment to the club's second team, which will play in the fourth-class regional league in 2012/13 . There he was immediately part of the starting line-up as a central defender.

On November 10, 2012, the 11th matchday of the Bundesliga season 2012/13 , Jensen came to his first appearance in the first team in the Bundesliga , when he was in the away game against Fortuna Düsseldorf (1-1) in the starting line-up. The reason for this was the injuries of four central defenders of the first team. As a result, Jensen moved firmly into the professional squad. He was also part of the starting line-up in the following home game against VfL Wolfsburg and made his second and final Bundesliga appearance. He moved back to the second team and a period of personal suffering began. Because of severe injuries in both ankles, Jensen spent almost a year in rehab, graduating with professional football. After his contract in Hoffenheim expired in 2016, he ended his active career and began studying medicine at the University of Munich .
