Peter Bialobrzeski

Peter Bialobrzeski (* 1961 in Wolfsburg ) is a photographer and professor at the Bremen University of the Arts .

Life

After graduating from the Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium in Wolfsburg, he first studied politics and sociology . This was followed by studying communication design with a focus on photography at the University of Essen and at the London College of Printing, now the London College of Communication .

Since 1989 his photographic work has been published in well-known international magazines and journals, from GEO Germany to the Korean GEO to the New York Times . Since 1994 he has been a member of the independent photo agency laif in Cologne. Since 2002 he has been Professor of Photography at the University of the Arts in Bremen .

Bialobrzeski achieved notoriety with his exhibition Neon Tigers with photographic works about rising metropolises in Asia. He has won several prizes, including the World Press Photo Award twice and the Dr. Erich Salomon Prize in 2012 . Bialobrzeski is on the jury for the Vonovia Award for Photography .

Peter Bialobrzeski has been a member of the Free Academy of the Arts in Hamburg since 2013 .
