Peter Dahlmann

Peter Dahlmann (born November 20, 1955 in Düsseldorf ) is a German metallurgist .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1974 and doing military service, Dahlmann studied metallurgy at RWTH Aachen University from 1976–1981 with a diploma . He then worked there from 1981 to 1985 as a research assistant at the Institute for Theoretical Metallurgy at RWTH, where he also worked at the Krupp Research Institute in Essen . In 1985 he became an employee of the Krupp Research Institute in the field of alloy technology . In 1988 he received his PhD from RWTH Aachen University with his dissertation on tensile, creep and relaxation behavior of copper at temperatures just below the melting point. Ing. PhD .

1997–2010 Dahlmann worked in the central technology department of Friedrich Krupp AG Hoesch-Krupp (from 1999 ThyssenKrupp AG ). From 2003 he was director and head of the central technology department and from 2008 director and head of external technology relations.

In 2010 Dahlmann became managing director and executive board member of the steel institute VDEh , of which he had been a personal member since 1979. In 2014 he also took over the management of the Research Association for Steel Applications. V. (FOSTA) in Düsseldorf .
