After McGregor's death, all of the animals in the area seize his garden and house. But when McGregor's nephew Thomas takes over the house from London, he drives them away. The new owner detests rabbits and will do everything possible to get rid of them. But Peter is resourceful and turns out to be a worthy and shrewd opponent. Meanwhile, Thomas and Bea fall in love, and Bea tries to arouse understanding for the rabbits in Thomas.

When the war between Thomas and the rabbits escalates, Peter accidentally destroys Bea's studio. She believes Thomas is responsible for it and doesn't want anything more to do with him, which is why he moves back to London. Plagued by a guilty conscience, Peter travels to London and brings Thomas back. This reconciles with Bea and ends the fight against the rabbits.
