Peter Tobaben

Peter Tobaben (born July 1, 1905 in Ahlerstedt , † December 17, 1972 in Stade ) was a German politician ( DP , later CDU ).

Life

Peter Tobaben attended elementary school from 1911 to 1919. He took over his father's farm, and in 1932 he continued his education at the farming college in Neudietendorf in Thuringia. From 1943 he took part in the Second World War. In 1945 he was taken prisoner by the Soviets , from which he was released again in 1948. His grave is in the Camper cemetery in Stade.

politics

Tobaben joined the DHP in 1923 and became a member of its successor organization, the DP, in 1948. For this he became a local council member and district council member in 1948. He was also district administrator.

Tobaben belonged to the German Bundestag in its first legislative period (1949–1953) and again from 1957 to 1972. From May 6, 1955 to October 31, 1957, he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (3rd electoral period). He was originally elected for the DP and joined the CDU on May 3, 1961 - in protest against the merger of DP and GB / BHE to form GDP . Tobaben entered the Bundestag in 1949 via the Lower Saxony state list and from 1957 as a directly elected member of the Stade - Bremervörde constituency and from 1965 of the Stade constituency .
