Petr Pála (born October 2, 1975 in Prague , then Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech tennis player .
Career
The doubles specialist was able to win seven doubles tournaments on the ATP Tour and reach the finals ten more times. The high point of his career was in 2001 when he reached the final of the doubles competition at the French Open and the Tennis Masters Cup in Bangalore, both times with his partner Pavel Vízner , but lost there.
His highest single placement was 286th place in June 1996, while he reached the top 10 in the double world rankings in August 2001.
His father František Pála also played on the ATP Tour from 1968 to 1979 and reached the Monte Carlo final in 1972 (he was defeated by Ilie Năstase in three straight sets). After his active career, he became the coach of his son Petr.
Since 2008 he has been the team principal of the Czech Fed Cup team , with which he won the title every year from 2011 to 2016 - except for 2013.
