career

Youth and beginnings in professional football in Nuremberg

After a year in the F-youth of TSV Wendelstein , Tschauner began his career in 1995 at 1. FC Nürnberg , where he went through all youth teams. After partially helping out in the goal of the second team of FCN in the 2003/04 season, he became the third professional goalkeeper and regular goalkeeper of the 1. FC Nürnberg Bayernliga team in 2004/05 . On October 22, 2005 he was first used against Arminia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga.

TSV 1860 Munich

In the summer of 2006 he moved to TSV 1860 Munich , where he signed a three-year contract. In the 2006/07 season he was the goalkeeper of the Löwen U23s in the Regionalliga Süd , and he also made five appearances in the TSV 1860 second division team , substituting twice for Michael Hofmann , who was injured.

In preparation for the 2007/08 season, coach Marco Kurz declared Tschauner the regular goalkeeper in front of Hofmann. On the fourth match day, however, he tore the cruciate ligament in his left knee partially, so Hofmann was back in action. Even afterwards he stayed in the goal of the Sechzger , Tschauner had to be satisfied with the role of substitute goalkeeper for several months. On February 27, 2008 Hofmann was injured in the Cup derby against FC Bayern , which is why Tschauner made his comeback. From then on, he was again the first choice for Kurz in the league. In March 2008, his contract was extended to 2011.

Tschauner also went as a regular goalkeeper in the 2008/09 season. However, when Uwe Wolf replaced Marco Kurz as coach in February 2009, he had to resign again, while Michael Hofmann was again guarding the Lion's Gate . However, this injured himself again after the 30th matchday, so that at the end of the season Tschauner was again between the posts.

In the summer of 2009, TSV 1860 signed Gábor Király , who was immediately declared a goalkeeper. Tschauner had to be content with the post of substitute goalkeeper. He played several times for the second team during the 2009/10 season, and he guarded the professional's goal for the only time on the last match day. Also in the following season he was on the bench for 33 games, only in the last home game he was used. Tschauner played a total of 49 league and five cup games for TSV 1860 and played 40 times for 1860 II.

FC St. Pauli

In the 2011/12 season Tschauner moved to FC St. Pauli , who had just been relegated from the Bundesliga , where he signed a contract until 2013. There he immediately became a regular goalkeeper and took part in all 19 league games until, in the last game before the winter break - a 2-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt - he suffered an ankle joint injury that made him unable to work for several weeks.

On April 1, 2013, the 27th matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga, Tschauner scored the 2-2 final result against SC Paderborn 07 in the 90th minute with a header after a corner from midfielder Dennis Daube . The contract, which was extended by two years, expired at the end of the 2014/15 season .

Hannover 96, loan to Ingolstadt

Tschauner moved to Hannover 96 in the 2015/16 season . He was given a two-year contract until June 30, 2017. In the 2016/17 season he was the goalkeeper after Ron-Robert Zieler moved to Leicester City . On matchday 1 of the 2017/18 season he played the second first division game of his career with Hannover 96 at FSV Mainz 05 after an 11-year and 10-month break. In October 2005 he had his only appearance in the 1st Bundesliga to date. He remained the goalkeeper throughout the season, but for the first games of the 2018/19 season, coach Breitenreiter initially preferred his deputy Michael Esser and Tschauner was number 2 at 96.

After the loss of its common course and just played a league game in the first round Hannover 96 gave him in the winter transfer period to the end of the second round to the relegation second division FC Ingolstadt 04 . Tschauner played in 16 league games and the two relegation games against SV Wehen Wiesbaden by the end of the season . After relegation to the 3rd division , he left the club.

Return to Hanover, change to Leipzig

For the season 2019/20 returned Tschauner initially to Hannover 96 back then surprised with a change as the third goalkeeper behind Péter Gulácsi and Yvon Mvogo to RB Leipzig . He signed a two-year contract and is supposed to work there as a goalkeeping coach.

National team

Philipp Tschauner played ten times for the DFB's junior teams. In 2004 he was on call for the U19 European Championship . His first appearance was later in the U20 . There he played a total of nine times, he was also in the German squad at the Junior World Cup in 2005 .
