Piret Pormeister (born May 16, 1985 in Tallinn ) is a former Estonian cross-country skier .

Career

Pormeister started in Otepää for the first time in the cross-country skiing world cup in January 2004 and took tenth place with the relay. At the Junior World Championships in 2004 in Stryn, she achieved 65th place in the 5 km freestyle, 23rd place in the 15 km mass start race and 12th place in the sprint. She ran her first individual World Cup race in March 2004 in Lahti , which she finished in 56th place in the sprint. At the Junior World Championships in 2005 in Rovaniemi , she came 59th in the skiathlon and sixth in the sprint. In the following year, she won 54th place in the sprint at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Pragelato , 17th place with the relay and 15th place together with Kaili Sirge in the team sprint. In January 2007 she got her first World Cup points in Otepää with 20th place in the sprint. This was also her best placement in the individual World Cup. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2007 in Sapporo , she managed the 31st place in the sprint, 18th place together with Kaili Sirge in the team sprint and 15th place with the relay. In March 2007 she won the bronze medal in the sprint at the U23 World Championships in Tarvisio . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo , she finished 56th in the sprint and 11th place together with Triin Ojaste in the team sprint. She finished the Nordic Opening 2011 in Kuusamo on the 70th and the Nordic Opening 2012 on the 58th place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , she achieved 44th place in the sprint and 15th place together with Triin Ojaste in the team sprint. She ran her last World Cup race in February 2015 in Östersund , which she finished in 56th place in the sprint. In the same month she came in 43rd place in the sprint at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun .
