↑ ProA 2012/13 |
The 2012/13 season is the sixth season of the German ProB basketball division . The ProB is the second season of the hierarchically structured 2. Basketball Bundesliga (2. BBL). The regular season began on September 29, 2012.
mode
Twelve teams each in two groups, North and South, take part in this division's play. The regular season is played as a round- robin tournament in the mode everyone against everyone ( English "Round Robin" ) with a return game in the respective regional group. The eight best-placed teams at the end of this main round play cross -wise in the "best-of-three" mode in the play-offs from the two finalists, who both acquire the right to participate in the ProA for the following season and play the champions of this division . As an innovation for this season, the four worst teams at the end of the main round instead of in so-called play-downs while maintaining the direct results among each other, carry out a further round-robin tournament with a return game within the regional groups, with the two each on the two teams ranked at the bottom of the table relegated to the regional leagues.
conditions
The participating teams must, among other things:
- play in a hall with 500 seats,
- have six players in the squad who are German citizens .
During a game there must always be three German players per team on the field; the German players are to be marked with a German flag on the jerseys.
A maximum of 18 players per season and team can be used. At least nine of these must have German citizenship. Of the maximum of twelve players that can be used per game, at least six must be German. There are double licenses for players in the U24 age group, who can be used in the basketball Bundesliga (BBL) at the same time , as well as for U22 players from the regional leagues (and below). Players with a double license do not count among the 18 maximum usable players, but those with German citizenship do count towards the national quota.
Season Notes
- The TOPSTAR Kangaroos returned from the ProA 2011/12 as a sporty relegation after one year in the group south.
- After the ProA league club Giants Düsseldorf's license was withdrawn in the meantime , the university giants Leipzig moved up from the group south to the higher division. The sporty ProB relegated Duke Wolfenbüttel from the North Group was able to keep the class. As a result, the Bayer Giants Leverkusen had to move from the North group, which had played with thirteen teams in the previous season, to the South group.
- Citybasket Recklinghausen and the cooperation team of the Oldenburger Turnerbund and the Basketball Academy Weser-Ems (BAWE) were promoted from the regional leagues in the group north , while the Baskets Konstanz and the Dresden Titans rose in the group south .
- The Citybasket Recklinghausen are the third climbers from the Recklinghausen district to join the ProB after the BSV Wulfen 2010 and the BG Dorsten 2011 had already climbed up in previous years .
- Lindsay Hughey-Hall from the TOPSTAR Kangaroos scored the only triple-double of the regular time with 24 points, 11 assists and 13 rebounds on matchday 17 against the Giants Nördlingen in a 96-92 home win .

4 The best average is not counted as Poole only played ten games and Crews only played four games in the main round, which is less than half.
5 Blake Poole (BG Dorsten) achieved seven double doubles (70%) in ten games this season and an average effectiveness value of 25.1 and was therefore slightly better than Franklin.
