Former Irma headquarters in Rødovre

Rødovre Kommune is a Danish municipality in the Hovedstaden region . The municipality is part of the capital region Hovedstadsområdet .

The Copenhagen suburb is relatively small with 12.20 km² compared to the population of 40,652 (as of January 1, 2020).

In 1999 Rødovre was one of the venues for the 1999 Ice Hockey World Championship . The suburb was the headquarters of the Danish supermarket chain Irma until 2012 . From April 2017 (groundbreaking) a place of residence, IrmaByen ((Die) IrmaStadt), with 3,000 inhabitants was built here.
