Rüdiger Seitz
Rüdiger Seitz (born January 24, 1927 in Leoben ; † December 29, 1991 in Vienna ) was an Austrian composer and music teacher.
Seitz studied in Graz and from 1950 took organ lessons from Karl Josef Walter and composition lessons from Alfred Uhl at the Vienna University of Music . After a master class with Johann Nepomuk David from 1953 to 1954, he taught organ and music theory at the Diocesan Conservatory for Church Music. From 1957 he built a class for music theory and composition at the Vienna Conservatory. From 1974 he also gave lectures for composition at the Institute for Musicology at the University of Vienna . His students included Béla Korény , Wilhelm Sinkovicz and Martin Genahl .
As a composer Seitz was best known for songs (including To Live Here. Five songs based on poems by Paul Éluard , 1965). Seitz was awarded the Theodor-Körner-Stiftung's sponsorship award (1963) and the City of Vienna sponsorship award (1973).
