Ragnar Óskarsson (born August 19, 1978 in Reykjavík ) is a former handball player and current coach from Iceland .

Ragnar Óskarsson, who is 1.83 meters tall and weighs 85 kilograms, was under contract with Dunkerque HBGL until 2011 . Before that he played with US Ivry HB , in Nîmes and with Skjern Håndbold . In 2007 he was French champion with Ivry.

For the Icelandic national team , he played 99 international matches until December 2010 , in which he scored 158 goals. He was in the extended squad for the 2011 World Cup . At the European Championships in 2002 he was fourth with the Icelandic national team.

Since 2014 he has been working as an assistant coach at the French first division club Cesson Rennes .
