Rairobo is an East Timorese suco in the Atabae administrative office ( Bobonaro municipality ).

The place of Atabae (1970)

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Rairobo had an area of ​​38.72 km². Now there are 64.11 km². The Suco is in the north of the Atabae administrative office. To the east lies the Suco Atabae , to the south and west Aidabaleten . In the north lies the municipality of Liquiçá with its Sucos Gugleur and Vatuboro (both Maubara administrative office ). The north of Rairobo is bounded by the Lóis River . The Fatuburu , a source river of the Fatumolin, flows on the southern border . The Berita River has its source in the west of Rairobo. In the north of Sucos is the Monte Atabae ( 459  m ).

Atabae is located in the southeast . From here an overland road leads across the Suco to Aidabaleten , the main town of the administrative office. The villages of Vila Maria , Faturase ( Faturaseh ) and Limanaro lie on it . Also located at the eastern border of the localities Poetele ( Poetete ) and Tapoboten on the southern border Goulete . There are elementary schools in Atabae, Vila Maria and Limanaro. Atabae also has a medical station. The northern coastal road, one of the most important traffic routes in the country, leads a little inland and has been crossing the Lóis River via a long bridge in the northeast of the Sucos since 1990.

The four Aldeias Faturase , Limanaro , Rairobo and Vila Maria are located in the Suco .

Residents

1623 inhabitants live in the Suco (2015), of which 818 are men and 805 women. The population density is 25.3 inhabitants / km². There are 299 households in the Suco. Over 85% of the population name Kemak as their mother tongue. Over 5% speak Mambai , just under 5% Tetum Prasa and a small minority speak Bunak .

In 1961 the politician Emília Pires and later Finance Minister of East Timor was born in Rairobo.

In the 2004/2005 elections , Ernesto T. Soares was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections won Pedro da Cruz and in 2016 Pedro Leitão .
