Ralf Höller

Ralf Höller (born January 11, 1960 in Engelskirchen ) is a German historian , journalist and book author .

Live and act

Höller studied English , history and education in Bonn and Edinburgh . After his first professional position at Reader's Digest in Stuttgart , he worked for several non-governmental organizations, including Aktion Courage eV - SOS Rassismus .

Today Höller lives as a freelance author in Bonn. He writes articles for literary magazines, daily and weekly newspapers as well as online portals. His journalistic work focuses on the countries of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe. Höller is a permanent contributor to the Latvian Press Review and publishes his culture letters in the journal Literatur und Critique published by Karl-Markus Gauß .

In his works, Höller deals with outsiders and minorities and looks at historical events from their perspective; for example the early modern peasant wars, the Soviet republic in Bavaria 1918/19, the colonial wars in South America and Northeast Africa or the revolutions and civil wars in Mexico , Spain and the Ukraine .
