Race report

Because of the altitude, the engines had up to twenty percent less power. The 20th special stage (Sauz Seco) had to be canceled by the organizers for safety reasons. Sébastien Loeb (Citroën) won the 55th rally of his career. Loeb was more than 24 seconds ahead of Petter Solberg at the finish. Solberg made up 0.6 seconds behind Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) on the last special stage (4.42 kilometers) and was 1.1 seconds ahead of Ogier in the end. In the World Championship, Loeb was leading with 43 points ahead of Mikko Hirvonen with 37 and Jari-Matti Latvala with 25 points.

In the SWRC class , Xavier Pons won the entire rally with Martin Prokop after a tough battle . In the end, the Spaniard was 17 seconds ahead. In the overall standings, Pons and Prokop finished eighth and ninth. Michał Kościuszko was third, half an hour behind Pons and Prokop. Eyvind Brynildsen and Albert Llovera round off the ranking. In the PWRC class , Armindo Araújo won by more than three minutes over Toshi Arai . Since the winner of the Rally Sweden Patrik Flodin was not at the start, Araújo was now in the championship lead with 15 points.
