The Rasta Dome is a multi-purpose hall in the Lower Saxony city of Vechta . It is the home of the SC Rasta Vechta team playing in the first national basketball league .
history
The hall was officially inaugurated in October 2012 after a year of construction. The hall offered a total of around 2000 spectators for the inauguration, of which 1600 were seated. Since the hall did not have the minimum capacity required for the top division of the basketball league and would have prevented the basketball team from advancing, thanks to the large number of spectators and the enormous demand for season tickets for basketball games, the Rasta Dome was increased by another thousand seats after just one year expanded to 3140 places. The extension was completed in the first week of October 2013. On the basis of the expansion of the hall, the club was able to get a license for the basketball league, which was used immediately due to the athletic promotion in the ProA 2012/13 . All the remaining 12,000 tickets for the home games of SC Rasta Vechta for the 2013/14 season were sold out on October 14, 2013, just one and a half hours after the start of sales.
For the 2015/16 season, the VIP area in the Rasta Dome was expanded by around 100 seats and a separate kitchen was installed for this area. Around 400,000 euros were invested in the expansion.
