The town hall of Sankt Veit an der Glan is on the north side of the St. Veit main square. It is a three-storey, six-axis, Gothic structure that was changed in the 16th and 18th centuries. The profiled keel arch portal comes from the construction of the 15th century . Above it is a cast metal plaque marked 1468 with four saints, the Carinthian coat of arms, the Reich coat of arms, the house symbols of the Gleismüller and Kaltenhauser families, as well as the slogan “Aeins mans red a half red. Man sol sy verhoren bed. ”From the Sachsenspiegel . In 1754/55 the facade was redesigned in Baroque style by Marx Josef Pittner with a wave gable, rich stucco decoration with flower garlands on the window canopies and trophy decorations between the window axes. The statue of Justitia is attributed to Johann Pacher . The dragon-shaped gargoyles, the skylight grille of the portal with St. Vitus and the wrought iron railing in the driveway were made by Franz Ortner in 1754.

The three-storey arcade courtyard with Tuscan columns and sgraffito decoration , which imitates small baluster columns and decoratively fills the arches, was created around 1540. The courtyard was expanded: in the 17th century on the north side, in the 20th century on the east and south sides. In 1953 the sgraffiti were renewed. The inner courtyard was roofed over in 1998 according to plans by the architect Herfried Peyker. Since then it has been used for cultural events.

The stuccoed ceiling of the large hall on the first floor comes from Marx Josef Pittner , 1754.
