Raymond De Felitta

Raymond De Felitta (* the 30th June 1964 in New York City ) is an American actor , director , film producer , screenwriter and jazz - pianist .

Life

De Felitta graduated from the American Film Institute in 1987 and then faced the choice of joining the industry or trying to pursue his own projects. And although he had offers to direct films like Vacation Totally Crazy and Ein Satansbraten seldom alone , he declined and opted for the independent filmmaker's path . His first short film, Bronx Cheers , was nominated for an Oscar for best short film in 1991 . In the following years he made films like Shadow of Doubt , Two Family House and Reine Familiensache . He last shot Meet the Rizzos in 2009 , which won the Tribeca Film Festival Audience Award . For the film, he worked with actors such as Andy García , Emily Mortimer and Alan Arkin . He was also able to convince with his other works at various film festivals and won several film awards.

With the revision of Meet the Rizzos to a pilot episode, De Felitta recently offered Warner Bros. a concept for a TV series.

De Felitta is the son of screenwriter Frank De Felitta . He has been married to Sherry Brennan since 2001 and they have had a son since August 2004.

In addition to his work as an independent filmmaker, De Felitta also released two albums. Movies' til Dawn was released in 1994 and Fatha Land was released in 2007 , which is dedicated to the musician Earl Hines . But De Felitta also approached his second mainstay in music. In 2006 he shot the documentary 'Tis Autumn: The Search for Jackie Paris about Jackie Paris . Most recently he worked with the composer Kim Oler and the lyricist Alison Hubbard on the musical Buddys Tavern , which is based on his film Two Family House . Directed by Warren Carlyle, it will be presented for the first time in Manhattan.
