Reinhard Schwarzenberger (born January 7, 1977 in Saalfelden ) is a former Austrian ski jumper .

Career

At the Junior World Championships in 1994 in Breitenwang, Schwarzenberger won the bronze medal with the Austrian team. A year later he won the silver medal in the individual as well as with the Austrian team at the Junior World Championships in 1995 in Gällivare, Sweden . The 17-year-old from Pongau already triumphed when he first competed in a World Cup competition in Oberstdorf, and of all things, at the prestigious Four Hills Tournament. In the 1995/96 season he took third place in the overall ranking of the Four Hills Tournament after his second World Cup victory in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . This season he also achieved his best result in the overall World Cup with ninth place. His other great successes include third place at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and at the 1999 World Championships in Ramsau, both in the team competition. Schwarzenberger started for the St. Veit im Pongau gymnastics and sports union . On November 29, 2007, he announced his retirement from ski jumping. In 2010 he successfully completed a degree in business administration at the University of Innsbruck .
