The Ski Jumping World Cup 2003/04 (official sponsor name : ruhrgas FIS Ski Jumping World Cup 2003/04 ) was one of the International Ski Federation FIS between 28 November 2003 and 14 March 2004 discharged at 19 different locations in Europe, Asia and North America series of competitions in ski jumping . The original plan was to hold 28 individual and two team competitions. Six individual competitions had to be canceled or abandoned without evaluation. Five of them were deleted without replacement, one could be made up the next day, so that 23 individual competitions were included in the rating. Janne Ahonen from Finland won the overall standings this season , followed by the two Norwegians Roar Ljøkelsøy and Bjørn Einar Romøren in second and third place . The Polish defending champion Adam Małysz was twelfth. The team from Norway won the national ranking , ahead of Finland and the defending champion Austria .

Changes to the regulations

With the 2003/2004 season, the following changes to the regulations came into force: In future, jumping suits must be made of a type of fabric specified by the FIS and have a uniform cut . The size of a suit allowed for a jumper can in future be measured all over the body and not, as before, at just three points. In team competitions, only the best eight teams from the first run compete in the second round. The last starting group no longer starts in the order of the start numbers, but in the reverse order of the current ranking.
