The RevuePalast Ruhr is a travesty theater in Herten .

The theater is located in the listed heating center of the Ewald hard coal mine in Herten, which was closed in 2001 . The show stage was opened in October 2009 with the show “Voilà”, which ties in with the travesty revues in Paris, Berlin and Hamburg, by the theater entrepreneur and principal Christian Stratmann , brother of the cabaret artist Ludger Stratmann . Together with him, Christian Stratmann ran the Stratmanns Theater Europahaus in Essen until the end of 2003 .

The theater has a large hall with 290 seats and an "underground bar" with 90 seats. Other productions were "Magic Moments", "Viva Las Vegas" and the "Galanacht der Travestie". Once a month, the “whole guys” program is dedicated exclusively to the female audience. As a guest theater, the RevuePalast Ruhr opens up to selected artist friends of the principal Christian Stratmann at irregular intervals. So far, these have included the hit and opera singer Marc Marshall , the TV hyponotist Pharo and the jazz musician Wolf Codera .

Since its opening, the RevuePalast Ruhr has also been selected as a location for TV productions or a special location for trade fairs or events because of its attractive industrial architecture . Since 2013, after major soccer games, the ARD Sportschau Club , with presenter Alexander Bommes and guests, has been broadcast live from the theater's "underground bar". In March 2012, the WDR recorded the talk show “Fernsehabend” in the theater with Katrin Bauerfeind , Oliver Kalkofe , Ingolf Lück and Kim Fisher, among others .
