Ri Myong-guk (born September 9, 1986 in Pyongyang ) is a North Korean football goalkeeper .

Career

Ri appears internationally as a player in the Pyongyang sports group . He was a regular goalkeeper during qualifying for the Olympic soccer tournament in 2007 , but failed with his team in the final qualifying round to Australia and Iraq. Since 2007 Ri has also played in the North Korean national team . In the final round of the East Asian Championship in 2008 he was named the best goalkeeper, in 2009 he failed with the team in the qualifying round.

In the successful qualification for the 2010 World Cup , Ri came as North Korea's goalkeeper to a total of 15 missions and conceded only five goals. At the World Cup finals , Ri was used in all three preliminary round games, but had to accept most of all tournament participants with twelve goals; including a 7-0 defeat against Portugal , North Korea's biggest international defeat .

On July 14, 2017, he became the first North Korean to play his 100th international match .
