Richard Grüttner

Richard Grüttner (born April 7, 1854 in Breslau ; † July 3, 1919 in Berlin ) was a German sculptor .

From 1868 to 1872 he attended the art school in Breslau . He then worked as a stone sculptor in Leipzig , Berlin, Dresden , Paris and Munich . For some time he was in charge of the molding of the pieces found during the excavations in Olympia from 1874 onwards for the Berlin plaster molding shop . In 1886/1887 he set up the museum at the excavation site. After a stay in Italy, he returned to Berlin in 1889.
