Richard Halsey

Richard Halsey (* before 1970 ) is an American film editor .

Life

After Richard Halsey attended Bancroft Jr. High , he went to Hollywood High School . After graduating, he got a job in the mail room at Warner Bros. From there he moved to the sound editing studio of 20th Century Fox , where he worked for Kenneth Hall, among others. With his entry into the United States Army Halsey began a college course, which he broke off in favor of a job in the editing studio at 20th Century Fox as an assistant to George Jay Nicholson .

As early as 1970, Richard Halsey was able to prove his first independent film editing with The Nude Star , after which he cut films such as Pat Garrett chases Billy the Kid , Harry and Tonto and Rocky . For the latter, he was not only nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Editing , but also won the 1977 Oscar for Best Film Editing .

He is married to film editor Colleen Halsey , with whom he has appeared in films such as Sister Act - A heavenly career and darling, do you ever hold the ax? worked together and lives with her in the Hollywood Hills , a suburb of Los Angeles .

Richard Halsey is a member of the American Cinema Editors .
