Roßbach is a district of Braunsbedra in the Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt in Germany . The place is about 15 km south of Merseburg not far from exit 26 of the A 38 . To the north is the Geiseltalsee , the largest lake in Saxony-Anhalt.

The place became known through the battle of Roßbach on November 5, 1757. Roßbach belonged to the Wettin , later Electoral Saxon office of Freyburg until 1815 .
