Attractions
The S / S Ejdern , supposedly the oldest steamship in the world still in operation , is located in Södertälje.
On the Torekällberget in central Södertälje which lies open air museum Torekällbergets open-air museum with the Södertälje Stadsmuseum . Here you can visit the Nora kvarn windmill and old Södertälj houses and farms. The museum opened in 1929.
Technology can be experienced in the Tom Tits Experiment science center .
economy
Södertälje is the seat of two large and internationally important companies: Scania and AstraZeneca.
Scania is one of the largest commercial vehicle manufacturers in the world and has its head office as well as research, development and production in Södertälje. There is also an extensive Scania test track on the outskirts of Södertälje .
The Swedish-British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca , headquartered in London, has its development and research department in Södertälje.

In 2003, Södertälje received two new feeder roads to the E4 European route . There are also rail connections to Stockholm , Eskilstuna , Gothenburg and Helsingborg / Malmö . A canal that connects Lake Mälaren with the Baltic Sea runs through Södertälje .
