The South Korean national basketball team represents South Korea in men's international basketball games. It is one of the strongest national teams in Asia. The team is two-time Asian champions in 1967 and 1997.

history

The national basketball team of South Korea took part in the 1948 Olympic Games . They finished 8th and became the best Asian team. South Korea is the only national basketball team on its own continent that has participated in all 27 Asian championships. With three exceptions, the team always achieved the medal ranks. South Korea is also a regular favorite at the Asian Games. On the world stage, in addition to eighth place at the 1948 Olympics, the South Koreans achieved an 11th place at the 1970 World Championships and a ninth place at the 1988 Olympic Games.

successes

The greatest successes of South Korea are the gold medal wins at the Asian Basketball Championships in 1969 in Bangkok and in 1997 in Riyadh . The South Koreans achieved further significant tournament victories at the Asian Games of 1970 in Bangkok, 1982 in New Delhi and 2002 in Busan .
