Sabine Stamer (* 1956 in Helmstedt ) is a German journalist and author .

Life

Sabine Stamer began her career as a freelance newspaper journalist . Later she worked as an editor for the WDR . In 1986 she was awarded the International Journalism Prize of the City of Rome. In 1995 she received the Civis - Europe's media prize for integration .

Sabine Stamer became known through a biography of Daniel Cohn-Bendit , on which the taz and the Süddeutsche Zeitung reported, and through Inge Meysel's biography , whom she got to know personally. She has been a member of the board of Pro Quote Medien since 2016 .

Sabine Stamer was married to Tom Buhrow , with whom she has two daughters. With him she wrote, among other things, the book Mein Amerika - Dein Amerika , a “double portrait of everyday American life”, as Die Zeit called it. The couple separated in April 2016.
